Gee Gee A. S., a resident of Kolathur, Chennai, has cleared UPSC for the second time, UPSC Topper with an All India Rank of 25. A former 107th rank holder and Tamil Nadu State topper in 2022, she’s currently an IPS officer. She is all set to join the Indian Foreign Service and become a diplomat after becoming the UPSC Topper 2024, with an incredible rank of 25.

Gee Gee’s Family Background

Gee Gee comes from a middle-class family in Kolathur, Chennai. Her father is an electrician, and her mother is a homemaker. Gee Gee credits her brother, who is a social worker, as her inspiration for her civil services examination. She is the first one from her family to enter into civil services.

Gee Gee’s Educational Background

Gee Gee did her schooling at Jaigopal Garodia Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Kolathur. After completing school, she joined the prestigious Stella Maris College, Chennai. She did a bachelor’s in commerce at Stella Maris College and graduated in 2021. After graduating, she joined the Aram coaching institution to prepare for the civil services examination. She first took a foundation course from Aram and then pursued coaching and guidance for prelims, mains, and interviews.

Gee Gee’s UPSC TOPPER Journey

Gee Gee was introduced to UPSC by her college professor in her final year of college. She wanted to be a writer, but her professors from Stella Maris College encouraged her to pursue a career in civil services and be a UPSC topper. She did a lot of research about the civil services and decided to enroll in the exams after graduating from Stella Maris College. Her first attempt was in 2022, and it was successful, as she cleared it with an All India rank of 107. She was the Tamil Nadu State topper in UPSC CSE 2022. After clearing UPSC with AIR 25 in 2022, she was allocated to the Indian Police Service.

Her second attempt in 2023 didn’t get her the expected results to be a UPSC topper. She decided to appear for the third time to improve her rank. Gee Gee cleared with an All India rank of 25 and emerged as the second UPSC topper from Tamil Nadu.

Gee Gee’s Future Plans

Gee Gee is all set to join the Indian Foreign Service after clearing UPSC 2024. She said that her brother, who is a social worker, is her motivation. Gee Gee, after becoming the UPSC topper, admitted that she has a great interest in international relations and is looking forward to being a diplomat and helping Indian immigrants.

Gee Gee’s UPSC Optional Paper

Since she was from a Tamil background, she decided to opt for Tamil literature as her optional paper. Her proficiency in the Tamil language gave her a strong foundation to understand and analyze various Tamil literary works. Gee Gee believed that the Tamil Literature syllabus is concise and can be covered by anyone with dedicated efforts. All her efforts and dedication made her the UPSC Topper 2024.
