Aishwaryam Prajapati – Biography

Aishwaryam Prajapati, a girl of 27 years old, made history by succeeding in the country’s toughest exam UPSC CSE with a groundbreaking rank of 10th. The news came as a surprise for Ashwarayam with the publication of this year’s UPSS exam results on the 16th of April 2024.

Aishwaryam, hailing from Maharajganj, a district of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh was enthralled by the news and expressed her surprise by saying that she was certain that she would pass the exam, but she never considered getting the 10th rank in UPSC. It was a pleasant surprise despite her intense anxiety relating to the publication of the results.

She previously appeared on the UPSC CSE but could not clear it. However, in her second attempt, she not only cleared the exam but also was among the toppers.

Aishwaryam Prajapati – Educational Background

Aishwaryam Prajapati has quite a scholastic background.

  • She did her initial education up to 12th from the Rani Laxmi Bai Senior Secondary School of district Maharajganj.
  • Later on, she embarked on her journey of graduation. She graduated in the technical field.
  • She did her B.tech in NIT (National Institute of Technology) Uttarakhand in 2016. She finished her graduation in 2021.

Her UPSC journey started a few months after she completed her graduation.

Aishwaryam Prajapati – Work Experience

Aishwarya Prajapati, the topper of UP (AIR 10), is an NITian. She did her graduation in the technical field from NIT Uttarakhand between the years 2016 to 2021.

After her graduation, she got a placement in the company L&T. In L&T she worked for 18 months before quitting the job to prepare for the UPSC exams. She appeared in the civil service exam twice and it was in her second attempt that she not only cracked but also became one of the toppers of the country with a rank of 10.

Aishwaryam Prajapati – Family Background

Aishwaryam Prajapati was brought up in Maharajganj, a district in Uttar Pradesh.

She is the daughter of Rama Kamal Prasad who is an assistant professor at the Institute of Cooperative and Corporate Management, Research and Training. Her mother Urmila Prajapati is a homemaker.

Her background gives a strong impression of hard work and perseverance. A quality that is a mandate of preparing for UPSC exams. Her support of family as well as the values the family adheres helped Aishwaryam get success in her UPSC journey.

Aishwaryam Prajapati chose History as her optional paper for her UPSC exams as she was someone interested in historical concepts. As someone who had a keen interest in serving the society, the history subject was able to give her a good understanding of the social problems.

Aishwaryam Prajapati – UPSC Preparation and strategy

After her graduation, she took up a job in the company L&T but within a year and a half, she quit her job to fully prepare for the UPSC.

Her preparation for the exam was guided by her approach to focus on the quality of study compared to quantity. Likewise, she used to study for a considerable number of hours by making a strategy to put the hours effectively. She limited her resources of study material and mostly relied on NCERT and standard reference books.

Aishwaryam Prajapati – Success Story

On the publication of the results she could not contain her happiness and said that although she was expecting to crack the exam this year, the rank she achieved was beyond her expectations.

She advises the aspirants of the future to use their time in the quality of study rather than focusing on the hours they put in. Furthermore, she expressed her wish to serve society and be a valued member of it. Her story of becoming an IAS is not only inspiring but also motivational for those who are struggling in their own preparation for UPSC.
