Donuru Ananya Reddy, the dynamic girl who in her very first attempt cleared the much esteemed UPSC CSE 2023 is now the source of inspiration for everyone. Belonging to Ponnekal, Mahabubnagar a district in the state of Telangana Ananya’s journey is a testimonial of unwavering will and determination. Anannya belongs to a humble rural background to a self-employed father and a homemaker mother. That being said, her humility didn’t hinder her way to crack the Indian civil service examination.

Ananya is not only the first in her family to crack UPSC but she is also the topper in the women’s category of this year’s UPSC CSE. Becoming an IAS officer has always been my dream, says Reddy in an interview after the results were out on the 16th of April 2024. Out of 1016 candidates whose name was considered to assume the position in civil services, Reddy successfully holds the prestigious rank of 3 on an all-India basis.

Donuru Ananya Reddy’s Educational Background

Belonging to a humble rural background, to a self-employed father and a homemaker mother, Reddy always planned to become an IAS after her education was complete and work for society. She did her schooling in her native Mahabubnagar. After completing her schooling. she went to Hyderabad for higher studies. Ananya enrolled herself in the prestigious Miranda House, Delhi where she did her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography with honors. At the tender age of 22, Reddy cracked UPSC in her first attempt. Other than studies, Reddy also has an interest in teaching and guiding other students in their academic pursuits.

Donuru Ananya Reddy did her graduation from Miranda House, Delhi. She took geography as her honors subject and completed her graduation in 2021. After her graduation instead of getting a job. She chose to fulfill her dreams of becoming an IAS officer. Reddy spent the next two years preparing for the UPSC. She appeared in UPSC CSE 2023 and cleared it on her first attempt.

Donuru Ananya Reddy’s Family Background

Donuru Ananya Reddy belongs to a family where her father is a self-employed business person and her mom is a homemaker. The family foundation has assisted her with fostering her goals and furnished her with a strong climate for her schooling. Donuru Reddy’s scholastic display is a testimony of her family’s commitment to learning as her younger sister has accomplished a high score of 99.99 percent in Jee Principal 2024. Which is a demonstration of the help and support her family has given her and her sister.

Reddy’s UPSC Planning and process are one to be copied as during a meeting. She shared her considerations on how she arranged for the test and what propelled her to do as such. Ananya’s way of dealing and planning for the test was a blend of self-learning and training, with some assistance from her Humanities discretionary mentor in Hyderabad. Her humanities background made her choose anthropology as her optional paper. She did a tremendous job by securing a score of 137 and 138 in paper I and paper II respectively in her optional paper.

Now an IAS, Donuru Reddy has tried sincerely and invested around 12-14 hours of the day to get ready for the UPSC CSE exams. This shows her devotion and dedication towards fulfilling a long harbored dream of becoming an IAS. Ananya Reddy has consistently had a thriving enthusiasm to be an IAS. So as to make a positive contribution to the society. She drive to have an effect on individuals’ lives and her energy for public help have been the main thrust behind her success. Reddy’s UPSC story isn’t just motivating but also very moving for future competitors all around the country.
