Sanskriti Trivedy Family Background

Sanskriti Trivedy grew up in Ranchi and completed her Schooling from Ranchi, Jharkhand. Her father works as a civil engineer in a public sector company. Sanskriti acknowledges her parents as the constant pillars of support throughout her UPSC journey.

Sanskriti Trivedy’s Educational Background

Sanskriti Trivedy completed her secondary education in 2016 from Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, Ranchi, with 94.4% marks. Sanskriti moved to Delhi from Ranchi for her higher studies. She joined Gargi College (University of Delhi) in 2016 to pursue her bachelor’s in political science. Sanskriti, after a year of completing her bachelor’s, joined JNU for her Master’s in Political Science with a specialization in International relations. She started preparing for civil services exams during her Bachelor’s.

Sanskriti Trivedy Work Experience

Sanskriti Trivedy first cleared the Civil Services Examination in 2022, securing an All India Rank of 352. She was allocated to the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) and was undergoing training when the UPSC 2024 results were announced.

Sanskriti Trivedy UPSC Journey

Sanskriti Trivedy dreamt of becoming a civil servant from her higher secondary days in Ranchi. She started preparation for civil services exams during her bachelor’s from Gargi College, Delhi. Sanskriti Trivedi’s UPSC Journey was not easy. Her road to becoming an IAS officer was filled with failures. Sanskriti failed to clear the prelims in her initial and second attempt. She appeared for a third attempt in 2021 while doing her master’s from  JNU. However, she couldn’t go further than Mains.

Her fourth attempt in 2022 turned out to be successful as she cleared UPSC with an All India rank of 352. She was allocated to IDAS after clearing UPSC in 2022. Even though she got a rank in her fourth attempt, she decided to appear again to get a better rank. However, the UPSC 2023 turned out to be a nightmare for her as she failed to clear prelims. Any normal person would have thought of giving up the dream of becoming an IAS officer, but not her. Sanskriti gained all her courage to appear for her sixth attempt. UPSC 2024 was Sanskriti’s final attempt. It took Sanskriti more than half a decade of preparation, six attempts, a lot of failures, and countless hours of sleepless nights to crack the UPSC exams with a rank of 17.

Sanskriti Trivedy’s Tips for UPSC aspirants

Sanskriti Trivedy, in an interview, shared mistakes she made during her journey. She advised aspirants to avoid these mistakes to clear the UPSC. exams.

Don’t ignore revision – The Prelims syllabus is vast, and it needs revision at regular intervals of time.

Don’t underestimate Ethics and Essay papers in Mains – Sanskriti admitted that she underestimated the essay and ethics paper, and it resulted in her failures in initial attempts. According to Sanskriti, these papers can define one’s final rank.

Sanskriti advised aspirants to stick to the syllabus, prepare a solid strategy, and solve last year’s questions to clear the Civil Services Examination.

Sanskriti Trivedy Optional Paper

Since Sanskriti Trivedy did her bachelor’s and master’s in Political Science, she decided to opt for Political Science and International Relations as her Optional paper. She also had a keen interest in global affairs, governance, and politics. All of this made Political Science and International Relations a natural choice for her.
